Garment Care Instructions
Simple care rules that make your loungewear last
Hot water and high heat are the two fastest ways to damage good lounge clothes. Cotton can shrink noticeably, modal loses its drape, knit fabrics lose their shape, and spandex blends lose elasticity, sometimes rapidly, even after just a few washes on the wrong setting. Cold or cool water, a gentle cycle, and turning your pieces inside out before washing will extend the life of almost everything in your drawer significantly.
For drying, our loungewear benefits from air drying or a low-heat tumble dry. Anything with stretch, especially knits, should be laid flat to dry rather than hung, since hanging a wet knit causes it to stretch out over time in ways that can't be reversed. Skip the fabric softener on bamboo or synthetic blends; it coats the fibers and quietly reduces their natural breathability over repeated washes, which defeats the whole point of choosing a breathable fabric in the first place.
The care habits you build are what actually determine the longevity of your purchases. Whether you're working with a $30 cotton set or a $45 polyester blend, proper washing and drying will extend the life of either, and fabric quality combined with good care is always a better bet than price alone.
